March 18 was the 75th anniversary of the New London, TX, school explosion. It was caused by unodorized natural gas from a pipeline delivering gas to the school. Over 250 school children and teachers were killed as a result of the explosion. Within a matter of weeks Texas adopted mandatory odorization for gas distribution lines.
